Too busy to remember your kid’s birthday? Not performing at the office as effectively or efficiently as before?
Perhaps you happen to always be the last one who leaves the office.
Yes, this may pay off with a bigger paycheck or the love of your boss, but you may actually be working too much. And those extra hours you are constantly putting in will start to take a toll on your health, as well as other areas in your life.
It’s only when you find yourself tossing and turning at night or grinding your teeth that you realize you’ve got way too much on your plate. When you’re not able to catch enough sleep because your mind is too active, you can be sure you’ll be even more tired the following day at work. It’s quite the dangerous self-fulfilling cycle. Vicious, even!
You should be excited to get up and go to work, full of energy and new ideas, but it’s a known fact that if you spend too much time on the job, you’ll die sooner. Aside from premature death, you leave yourself at risk for gaining weight and having your love life hit the fan. If you are “at the office” even when you are at home asleep, it is time to take a breather.
