Extreme Fans Who Undergo Plastic Surgery to Look Like Celebrities

We’ve all heard of super-fans: The girl who makes it to every Beyoncé concert, the friend who can rattle off every single movie Channing Tatum has ever been in, or the one who will always try to find a way backstage at a One Direction show.

The next level up goes to the ones who idolize their favorite celebs and go to extreme lengths to show their admiration — whether it’s Miley’s Smilers who will defend her to no end, the Beliebers who think he’s the definition of perfection or the folks who get celeb’s faces tattooed on their bodies.

And then there is a whole different breed of fans. We’re talking about people like Toby Sheldon, a 33-year-old songwriter who has had five surgeries and spent over $100,000 to look like Justin Bieber. As far as extremes go, these people take the cake.

For these people the love for their celebs goes so deep that they’ll spend tons of cash to achieve their likeness.

Of course, there can be other factors at play than simply admiration. As Psychiatrist Dr. Carole Lieberman told Yahoo, “Consciously or unconsciously, people think that if they look like a particular celebrity, it will bring them the power that a celebrity has, the power to attract people, to be a heart-breaker, to have guys or girls swooning over them.”

Whatever the case is, these extreme fans go the distance. While some succeed, most of the time these surgeries result in a huge failure.

We put together a slideshow of 11 people who had plastic surgery to look like celebrities, but we’ll leave it up to you to decide whether or not it was worth the time and money.

Scroll through the slideshow above and let us know what you think. Do you think they succeeded or failed?
