U.S. Army Captain Sarah Cudd was one of only 46 candidates participating in a rigorous set of training exercises in the hopes of earning an Expert Field Medical Badge. The badge is only given to military medics who successfully complete a gruelingly brutal set of written and physical tests.
The last test is a particularly difficult 12-mile march which must be completed while equipped in fatigues, a large pack and a rifle.
Not many people qualify, and even fewer earn the coveted badge.
Unfortunately, Cudd was just shy of the finish line when she collapses from utter exhaustion. Has gut-wrench as that was, what happened next is truly inspirational.
Her fellow soldiers demonstrate the true meaning of teamwork and endurance.
See what happens in the emotional video clip above.
