Now that’s a baby bump! Mail Online reports a 23-year-old woman from the Czech Republic is the country’s first to naturally conceive quintuplets, a phenomenon with the odds of around one in several million.
Alexandra Kinova already has a son, so when she gives birth by cesarean section this Sunday, her and her partner’s family of three will almost triple to a unit of eight.
Kinova was initially told by doctors that she was pregnant with twins, but in March they explained to her that there were four children. A month later however, they discovered the real number was five.
“When we finally found a fifth head, I started to cry” she told a Czech news site.
So far doctors have only been able to determine the sex of three of the babies – two boys and one girl, but the other two are hidden underneath their siblings.
Kinova plans to breastfeed all five children, like she did for her first son.
We extend a sincere congrats and a big good luck to Kinova and family.
