A 14-month-old little girl tragically died after a visit to the dentist went terribly wrong. The little girl was apparently there for a routine cavity filling, but stopped breathing while under the effects of anesthesia, according to reports.
Little Daisy Lynn Torres, from Austin, Texas, was described as a “happy baby” by her family.
An autopsy report is still pending to determine cause of death.
Torres died two hours after she was rushed to a hospital after she stopped breathing during the procedure.
A family friend said that the unexpected death has “shattered this family’s world.”
According to reports, well-wishing friends have set up a page on You Caring to raise money to cover funeral costs, and asking for prayers for the family.
A spokesperson for Austin Children’s Dentistry, where the tragedy occurred, said that those at the clinic are also heartbroken by the tot’s death.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family,” Sarah Marshall told local news. “This is a tragedy, and we’re just waiting to learn more information from the medical examiner’s office. We want to keep the privacy of the family, legal privacy, and just respectful privacy of the family.”
