While growing up, I just remember vending machines always stealing my quarters when trying to buy a bag of chips.
Today, these convenient contraptions with touch-screens and a variety of options are such an essential component of our consumer lifestyles that many people can’t live without them. In recent years, there has even been a nationwide push for incorporating healthy snack foods for consumers, which many companies have taken advantage of.
Many innovators and entrepreneurs have utilized the $7 billion dollar industry to introduce new creative opportunities to the public. Expanding beyond just drinks and snack, vending machines are now capable of dispenses baby formula, 3D-printing prototypes, shoes and even bicycles. Medical cannabis vending machines are even gradually becoming a reality in California.
So much for the days of putting in a dollar to get a beat up can of Coke.
