This probably isn’t the most comfortable way to take a shower.
An 82-year-old man in Vaxjo, Sweden found himself stuck in an operating car wash at his son’s gas station.
Tage Schill was unaware that a customer had activated the system while he was cleaning the facility. When he passed the motion-detecting sensor the car wash started.
“I didn’t notice that a woman had put her card in to drive into the automatic car wash,” said Schill. “I only realized when the car wash suddenly kicked in and water splashed from all directions. And there I was in the middle of it all.”
He described the ordeal as “frightening and terribly noisy” and explained “I couldn’t hear or see anything and I was trying to get out of there.”
Luckily he was able to get out before the wax and polish started.
The woman who had activated the wash felt guilty and thought it was her fault but Schill reassured her it was not so. He even gave her a pass for a free wash.
The kind-hearted octogenarian thankfully escaped the ordeal unharmed. As for the son: His “first comment when I got out was ‘well, now you’re clean at least’,” Schill told his local newspaper, Smålandsposten.
