98 Degrees Turns Up the Heat with Reunion News

The 90s band 98 Degrees reunites

We recently reported some very exciting news for fans of the ’90s boy band era (admit it, you’re one of them) regarding the reunion of the Backstreet Boys, their ongoing work on a new album, and plans for a concert on Good Morning America on Aug 31st.

Now there is even more reason for those fans to rejoice. 98 Degrees, another ’90s based boy band, has announced the group is reuniting to make sweet, sweet music once again.

The band, whose hits include “Just One Night (Una Noche),” “Because of You,” and “I do,” announced that they will make their first TV appearance in over 10 years on the Today show’s “Summer Concert Series” on August 17th and take part in the first annual Mixtape Festival in Hershey, Pennsylvania on Aug 18th.

The group- with members Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons- has also been spending time in a studio making new music, says the Huffington Post.

98 Degrees shot to success in 1998 after the band’s breakthrough album, 98 Degrees and Rising, went quadruple-platinum. Following that success, they released Revelation, a Christmas album and a compilation album called The Collection. They went on a hiatus in 2002.

The band said in a statement “In the ten years since our last performance as 98 Degrees we’ve each achieved personal success and grown as individuals, while remaining a close-knit family. With so much to celebrate, this reunion is going to be one big party, so whether you tune in to the Today Show or join us at the MixTape Festival, everyone’s invited.”

Between the Backstreet Boys and 98 Degrees, which band are you more excited to see back in action? Share your thoughts below.
