An abortion clinic blasts audio books to protect the women visiting the center. Is this the new tug of war between abortionists and Christians?
David Peters, a Norfolk, Virginia abortionist, blasted renowned atheist speech called “We Are the Apes” while pro-life Christians pleaded with young moms about to have an abortion to spare their babies life, and present the Gospel of Jesus Christ as God’s way of salvation. The audio clips blasted from the clinic are from an audiobook for The Happy Atheist, published in 2013 by PZ Myers.
The anti-abortion Christian protesters complained afterwards because the clinic drowned out their attempt to reach out to patients and promoted atheism.
“It’s opposition to the gospel,” said one demonstrator Jason Sleichter about this scandal that rocked Tidewater Women’s and LGBT Primary Care.
“We are apes and the descendants of apes,” the recording says. “We’re the descendants of rat-like primates, who were the children of reptiles, who were the spawn of amphibians, who were the terrestrial progeny of fish, who came from worms, who were assembled from single-cell microorganisms, who were the products of chemistry. Your daddy was a film of chemical slime on a Hadean rock and he didn’t care about you; he was only obeying the laws of thermodynamics.”
Demonstrators were very upset to be disrupted in their attempts to “minister” to women seeking treatment at the clinic with atheist propaganda, they said.
“We were telling them that their baby was made in the image of God, and what was going on that day was that God’s image was being destroyed,” said Don Karns, who shot the footage.
Was this hilarious on the clinic’s part or demeaning?
We want to hear who you side with. Do you think it was wrong of the clinic to drown out the Christian protesters outside or is it wrong of the protesters to push their religious views on the women seeking care in the clinic? Let us know below.
