In the current era of online dating, Tinder has taken off by storm. We’ve all heard our share of online dating stories gone wrong, but this one takes the cake.
As explained on her blog, No Bad Dates Just Good Stories, Lauren Crouch, 28, writes about her most recent Tinder date.
Her date declined her initial suggestion for alcoholic drinks at a pub and asked her to meet at small cafe at a nearby London Underground station.
Crouch agreed, and when they met things went normally without incident.
She said that they had a normal conversation for the next 25-minutes before he invited her back to his home. She shared an excerpt of how that conversation went as seen on her blog post:
Him: “Have you had dinner yet?”
Me: “No I came straight from work.”
Him: “What would you say if I offered to cook you dinner?”
Me: “Ermmm…right now?
Him: “I only ask because I’ve got an Ocado delivery coming tonight.”
Me: “I’d have to say no. I couldn’t possibly go back to the home of someone I’ve literally just met, sorry.”
Him (talking over me): “lots of nice fresh vegetables and good fish.”
Him: “OK well I’d better go. Need to be home for the delivery.”
Ocado is a British online supermarket that delivers all their inventory from its two warehouses.
After the awkward exchange, they decided to say their goodbyes. This is where it gets weird.
