Comedian-actors Amy Poehler and Will Arnett have separated after nine years of marriage, according to Us Weekly.
The couple has seen happier times. In an interview to Glamour magazine Poehler once commented, “I was always attracted to funny people, and Will is so talented and funny. We are genuinely each other’s fans and we love what the other does. I don’t know a lot of other couples where you’re with your partner and you’re like, ‘I love what you do at work!'”
The couple first began dating in 2000, a year before Poehler started working on Saturday Night Live. Arnett’s role for Arrested Development kept him across the country during that time.
“When we first started SNL and Arrested Development, we were in different cities for three years [but] we did see each other. We went back and forth.” she told USA Today in 2007.
They got married two years later, on August 29, 2003.
The couple has two children- Archie, 3, and Abel, 2 – and has also acted in shows together and appeared in each other’s projects, such as Arnett’s Arrested Development and Poehler’s Parks and Recreation.
This split will be the first for Poehler and the second for Arnett, who was previously married to The Artist actress Penelope Ann Miller. The couple divorced in 1995 after one year of marriage.
