Anchorman fans, get ready for some sweet music.
According to The Playlist, director Adam McKay revealed Anchorman 2 is going to include whole song sequences. “There will be some music in [the movie]. We for sure have some songs already written” he said.
Additionally, the music sequences will be performed right on set ala Les Miserables. This isn’t a first for the director. “We always do it live on the set,” he said referring to the last Anchorman movie’s performance of “Afternoon Delight” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine” in Step Brothers. “If the actors get freaked out, don’t sweat it, we can always re-record it later. And every time we’ve done it, we end up using the live track.”
He added “This one might have a little more movement in it, and the only problem with that is the actors get winded.”
Anchorman 2 won’t go into filming until March of next year and no release date has been set. You can expect to see Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner return for the comedic sequel.
