Anderson Cooper’s Talk Show Canceled; Low Ratings to Blame

Anderson Live, currently in its second season on CBS, will not return for a third season.

A Warner Brothers executive was quoted by The New York Times as saying the reason for the cancellation was due to low ratings.

After the first season, Anderson was revamped with a new set, a new name (Anderson Live), and a new format. Instead of Anderson hosting by himself, he had a string of guest hosts helping him with his segments.

Unfortunately, the makeover didn’t seem to do the trick, and the ratings still remained dismal.

WB released the following statement this morning:  “We are extremely proud of Anderson and the show that he and the entire production team have produced. While we made significant changes to the format, set and produced it live in its second season, the series will not be coming back for a third season in a marketplace that has become increasingly difficult to break through.”
