Angelina Jolie was moved to tears by the mother of a girl who was raped in the Congo. Neema Namadamu’s words were so touching that Jolie wrapped her arms around around her and didn’t let go for quite some time.
Namandamu’s daughter was 25-years-old when she was brutally attacked. Because of the injustices that were done to her daughter, she has founded Maman Shujaa, the “Hero Women of the Congo,” to fight for the rights of women.
Jolie attended the “End Sexual Violence in Conflict” summit in London. The summit is the largest of its kind in history.
The actress also spent time reviewing products made by women and sold by the International Campaign to Stop Rape and Gender Violence.
