Arsenio Hall Gets New Late-Night Talk Show

With cries of Whoop, whoop, whoop! and fist-pumping jokes aplenty, entertainment reporters announced that Arsenio Hall will be getting a new late-night talk show in the fall of 2013. According to Los Angeles TV station KTLA, which will be one of the stations airing the program, “The new show is set to launch on 17 Tribune stations, including in the three largest markets on KTLA, Los Angeles, at 11 p.m.; WPIX, New York, at 11 p.m.; and WGN, Chicago, at 10 p.m.”

For years, Hall was best known for hosting the Emmy Award-winning The Arsenio Hall Show from 1989 to 1994. What was originally viewed as an upstart talk show became a huge cultural phenomenon, even inspiring then-presidential candidate Bill Clinton to appear on the show in 1992 and play “Heartbreak Hotel” on the saxophone. Most recently he became known to younger audiences for winning the latest edition of NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice.

Naturally, Hall’s return to TV sparked a number of comments from fans in the Twitter-verse. Since he started trending on he social network last night, we started paying attention and copies out a few of our favorites. Enjoy.
