The Backstreet Boys are back together once more and working on new projects. The band members recently announced the return of band member Kevin Richardson, who left the group in 2006 to pursue other interests.
They revealed earlier this week that their first performance as a fully reunited group will take place on Good Morning America on Aug 31.
The boys are also currently working on a new album in a London studio with producer Martin Terefe, who has worked with musical talents such as Mary J. Blige, Train and Jason Mraz.
The Backstreet Boys rose to fame in 1996 with the release of their self-titled debut album. After nearly eight years together the band went on a two-year hiatus but reunited in 2005 for their album Never Gone. A year after that, Richardson left.
But now that he’s back, the boys are putting in work for a strong comeback. They’ve even moved in together as they work on the new album. In a TV interview on Good Morning America, Nick Carter said “We wake up. We have breakfast together. We’re not sick of each other at all. It’s awesome. The vibe is fantastic.”
The new album is expected to be released next spring, which will also mark 20 years since the band first started, over which it sold around 130 million records.
With all this news and excitement about the band’s near future, we thought it would be fun to look back at some of their past works. So we put together four of our favorite BSB songs (because really, who can settle on just one?)
Take a listen!
