Beyoncé Announces Destiny’s Child Comeback

With one simple sentence, Beyoncé Knowles sent music fans into a flurry of excitement.

“I AM SO PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE FIRST ORIGINAL DESTINY’S CHILD MUSIC IN EIGHT YEARS!”

That’s right, Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams are back together after breaking up in 2005. The ladies didn’t split over any major fight– they each went on to do their own work, have families, and live the life they couldn’t totally enjoy while constantly working in the popular girl group. Because of that, fans dreamed of a reunion.

And here it is… sort of.

Beyoncé made the announcement today on her website that Destiny’s Child would be releasing Love Songs, a new album slated for a January 29 release. The news was also shared on the Destiny’s Child’s Facebook page, and interested fans can pre-order the new album for $9.99. The artwork was also posted on various sites. Here it is:

According to Billboard, the 14-track album “is composed of romantic-themed songs the trio recorded between 1997-2004 except for one new song, ‘Nuclear.’ A publicist for Legacy Recordings confirms with Billboard that ‘Nuclear’ is a newly recorded track.” The last Destiny’s Child studio album, Destiny Fulfilled, came out in 2004; a greatest hits compilation was released the following year.

And yes, the news does make us lose our breath.
