Blankets provide us with warmth and comfort, and now even save the environment?
Citizens and Swiss environmentalists are working together in the central Alps to cover the Rhone glacier with insulated blankets. Although their effort won’t stop the melting completely, it will at least decrease the amount the glacier shrinks.
According to research by The Earth Institute of Columbia University, the Rhone glaciers have minimized significantly over the last 150 years.
Perhaps even the simple efforts can go a long way in saving our environment. What do you think?
