The gift of sight is something millions of people around the world are denied, especially those who are poor.
Despite monumental medical advances that have made it possible for someone’s sight to be restored within 15-minutes, people who cannot afford the $300 operation are left in the dark.
That’s where the charity 20/20/20 comes into play. They are enabling the less fortunate to live better lives and experience the beauty of vision. The surgery involves removing the defective lens that causes blindness and replacing it with an artificial lens.
In the video above, watch as sisters Sonia and Anita, who have been blind since birth, see the world around them for the first time when their bandages get removed. Their reactions left us speechless.
Isn’t it amazing how the things we take for granted can bring such joy?
