Boy Fights 9-Foot Alligator with His Bare Hands, Lives to Tell the Story

A 9-year-old Florida boy has survived a brutal alligator attack while swimming in Lake Toho, in the city of St. Cloud.

“At first I thought someone was just playing with me,” said James Barney. “I reached down to grab it and I felt its jaw, I felt its teeth.”

In an effort to save his life, he used his bare hands to push the 9-foot beast away.

“I didn’t know what to do. So I immediately reacted and hit it a couple times. I had enough strength left to pry its jaw open a little,” said Barney.

Luckily, the boy got away and was able to swim back to the shore.
