WATCH: Boy Trips Putting Hole in $1.5 Million Painting

A 12-year-old Taiwanese boy is making headlines after he was caught on camera accidentally ruining an expensive Italian painting. Surveillance footage shows the child tripping and ripping a 350-year-old painting. According to The Guardian the art, done by Paolo Porpora was an oil painting of flowers and cost a whopping $1.5 million.

The young boy is seen walking towards the painting in a museum before he trips over the security rope stand and falls towards the art. The boys hand goes out to catch his fall and unfortunately makes contact with the painting and rips through the canvas. His fall put a hole right through the bottom.

You can see how he looks around nervously after realizing he put a fist size puncture in the painting.

Thankfully for him and his family, they will not have to pay for the artwork to be fixed as it is insured.
