Broadway or Bust Gives Exclusive Look at National Theatrical Competition

Earlier this year thousands of hopeful high school theatre students competed in 30 different regional competitions in order to participate in the National High School Musical Theater Awards, better known as The Jimmy™ Awards.

The 60 winners – one male and one female performer from each region — went to New York for a week of intense master classes, rehearsals, mentoring, coaching, performance and competition, which then all came together in a one-night performance at Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre in front of a panel of high-profile judges and a live audience. Two students, the best of the best, were then picked from six finalists as the country’s top theatrical talents and presented with the coveted Jimmy™ Award.

Broadway or Bust, a three-part primetime series will give audiences a behind-the-scenes look at this journey for the first time ever, and let the viewers in on all the excitement, suspense, and drama, from start to finish. The show will premiere on PBS on September 9, 2012 at 8PM, with new episodes airing September 16th and 23th.

Watch the promo below and then tune in this Sunday for the series premiere.
