Meet Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as the Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner. This is her first print interview and photo shoot since going public as “her.”
She announced just last month in an interview with Diane Sawyer that she was transitioning into a woman. In a Keeping Up with the Kardashians special we saw the family get emotional as she offered answers to their seemingly unanswerable questions.
After countless hormones and facial surgeries the wait is over, Caitlyn Jenner has been shot for the first time ever for the cover of Vanity Fair. While there has not been a gender-reassignment surgery scheduled yet, she admits that it may be something for the future.
In the pages of the magazine’s July issue she tells Pulitzer Prize winner and contributing editor, Buzz Bissinger, what went on behind the scenes, and why she felt she needed to become a woman. “If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life.’ ”
Annie Leibovitz shot Caitlyn Jenner for Vanity Fair where she was revealed as a woman for the first time. The magazine will be on stands Tuesday, June 9th.
