One of the big entertainment news items of 2015 has thus far been former Olympian Bruce Jenner’s transition to a woman. Now it seems that’s about to be one-upped by his mother, Esther, who told Radar Online that she’s more proud of her son than ever before.
I just learned about [his transition]. Bruce filled me in, and we had a very long, long, long talk about it.
I have never been more proud of Bruce for who he is, himself as a father, as an Olympian, wonderful public speaker. He instills enthusiasm in people. He’s gifted.
I am more proud of him now than when he stood on that podium and put the gold medal around his neck. He deserves all the respect.
While Bruce Jenner’s mom seems on board, Radar reported that Bruce hasn’t found much support from his ex-wife Kris Jenner — except being “outraged” over the In Touch magazine cover that Photoshopped the father of six into looking like a bad drag queen. However, his equally famous daughter Kim Kardashian seemed a bit more open in her opinion. She said to Entertainment Tonight, “I think everyone goes through things in life and I think that story and what Bruce is going through, I think he’ll share whenever the time is right.”
Up next? With Jenner’s reality show for E! in production,it’s also been confirmed that he will discuss his transition at length with reporter Diane Sawyer. That interview is slated to air in May. There’s more info on that in the video report below.
