A Tennessee man thought he was having a private conversation, but really he had unwittingly made the biggest pocket-dial mistake of his life.
Grant O’Connor was arrested after 911 dispatchers heard him talking about drug use and his dealer. Unbeknownst to O’Connor, his phone had butt-dialed the emergency service and they could hear everything that was said.
WKRN reports that Maury County police traced the call to a restaurant where O’Connor was having dinner with an unnamed lady friend.
When police arrived, the pair was making their departure from the parking lot, but the vehicle they were in had a tail light out. This gave authorities a reason to perform a vehicle stop, which lead to the discovery of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the car.
The woman claimed not to have known about the drugs and was allowed to leave. Regardless, O’Connor was booked into county jail before he was released on bond.
He is charged with possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
