Can you cook with lava? It’s not really an age-old question, nor is it something we plan on trying any time soon, but when we saw this video we thought it was too cool — Or should we say hot? — to pass up.
Sculptor Bob Wysocki and geologist Jeff Karson, teamed up with London-based alt-culinary duo Bompas & Parr to stage a cookout with the molten liquid of an artificial lava flow. The group went to great lengths to make it happen, and the experiment was rather risky: The unusual heat source can reach temperatures of 2100°F, which was definitely hot enough to roast a couple of steaks and some ears of corn.
