The people over at Lionsgate must be having fun with their daily role casting announcements for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Pretty soon we’ll start to lose count, but today is the fourth announcement this week of a new actor for the movie. Earlier this week they announced Meta Golding as Enobaria, Bruno Gunn as Brutus and Alan Ritchson as Gloss.
Today’s Catching Fire casting news involves actor E. Roger Mitchell. The latest newcomer will play the role of Chaff.
The character is a tribute from District 11 who won the 45th Annual Hunger Games and will compete in the Quarter Quell alongside Katniss, Peeta, and others.
Mitchell is a seasoned actor and has performed in live theatre, film and TV and has appeared on The Shield, One Tree Hill and Tyler Perry projects such as Diary Of A Mad Black Woman and House Of Payne.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be directed by Francis Lawrence, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force, in association with Jon Kilik. Lionsgate plans a release for November 22, 2013.
