Celebrities with Diseases – You’ll Be Surprised by Who Has Been Diagnosed

While many people think celebrities are included in that 1% of the world that are prefect, think again. They too have family issue, relationship issues and health issues. It may not be something we hear in the tabloids very often, but celebrities suffer from diseases and medical problems just like everyone else.

From asthma and psoriasis to cancer these are the celebrities that have been diagnosed and are living with diseases.

  • Kim Kardashian: Psoriasis

The famed reality star filmed her journey as she found out she was diagnosed with the autoimmune disorder. It causes red scale-like marks to appear all over the body. The skin disease is not curable. However, it can be controlled through medicine and creams.

  • Michael Douglas: Throat Cancer

The actor was diagnosed with stage four throat cancer and went through six months of treatment in 2010.  While there is no sign of the deathly disease, it is a possibility the cancer could come back. Douglas says he obtained the cancer through the human papillomavirus.

  • Jack Osbourne: Multiple Sclerosis

Just two weeks after the birth of his first child Osbourne was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. It is a condition that takes over the brain and spinal cord and can cause severe disabilities. His disease really came to light as he took the stage on Dancing with the Stars in 2013.

  • Magic Johnson: HIV

The legendary NBA player has been living with the sexually transmitted disease for over 20 years. He has been very open about his journey and has even started a charity to help raise funds and awareness, the Magic Johnson Foundation.

  • Tom Hanks: Diabetes

Tom Hanks is one of millions of people who suffer with the disease. Hanks has been open about diabetes, and even spoke with David Letterman in 2013 regarding the blood sugar reacted sickness.

  • Toni Braxton: Lupus

The Grammy award winning singer opened up about her diagnosis at a lupus related event. It has caused her to have many heart related issues including blood cots. Women of color are more likely to get the disease than white women.

  • Mykki Blanco: HIV

The rapper announced just this weekend that he has been HIV positive since 2011. According to him he is healthy, and doesn’t want to live in the dark anymore.

  • Miley Cyrus: Tachycardia

The singer came out in 2009 telling her fans that she has the heart condition which results in her heart beating faster than normal. While she says the disease isn’t dangerous it does need to be taken seriously.

  • David Beckham: OCD

The model and athlete has spoken in a few interviews about his struggle with having an obsessive compulsive disorder. He claims that he cannot relax till everything is organized, in a straight line, or pair.

  • Pamela Anderson: Hepatitis C

The former centerfold model revealed that she is dealing with living with the liver diseases in 2002. She claims she got it from her former husband Tommy Lee, when they shared a tattoo needle.
