We generally don’t really buy into the hype of new diet fads, but this is one we can definitely jump on-board with.
Doctors are claiming the new chocolate diet can help people lose weight by controlling their appetite and regulating their metabolism. Neuroscientist Dr. Will Clover is one proponent of this diet and says eating chocolate everyday can be helpful for those looking to shed some weight. He believes it can help you eat less during meals and snack less throughout the day.
However, he recommends you aim for dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa content and that you consume it 20 minutes before and five minutes after both lunch and dinner.
Gastroenterologist Dr. Christine Frissora also says chocolate has been linked to lower cholesterol levels and a decrease in risk of stroke and heart attack but says if you’re looking to lose weight, you should keep the amount to 60 calories per day.
