Jimmy Fallon has done several “evolution of dancing” skits on his late night shows, but this is one for the ages. In terms of laughs, it’s beat Chris Christie dancing.
New Jersey governor Christie joined Fallon on the Tonight Show for the evolution of “dad dancing,” in honor of Father’s Day this Sunday. They busted a few classic dad moves, like the “belt grabber” and the “oh stop, I’m not embarrassing you.” But perhaps the greatest one was the “this bridge is closed,” spoofing Christie’s recent controversy over the disastrous closing of the George Washington Bridge.
The Republican governor proved that he was up for some fun, even entertaining a question about his rumored 2016 bid for the presidency. Fallon asked “hypothetically” if Christie thought he could beat Hillary Clinton.
“Hypothetically? You bet,” Christie answered.
“…In a dance off,” Fallon amended.
“That’s what I was talking about. What were you talking about?” Christie added.
The dance segment had plenty of hilarious moments too, poking fun at the age-old tradition of dads embarrassing their children with goofy dancing. Watch the video above for a some highlights from Chris Christie dancing in his Tonight Show appearance.
