“Genius” Burglar Robs Same Store that Landed Him in Prison

Christopher Miller’s agenda for his first day fresh out of the slammer? To get right back in.

After being released 10 days ago from South Woods State Prison in Bridgeton, New Jersey, Miller, 40, decided to head back to Stride Rite, the exact same shoe store in Toms River he robbed 15 years ago.

It seems Miller’s time in confinement not only gave him an opportunity to reflect on his crime, but also plot his next one.

Back in 1999, Miller strolled into Stride Rite, demanded cash from the register and tied up the employees in the back room.

Then, on March 24, 2014, he performed the exact same routine.

After frightening the 17–year-old male and 43-year-old female employees, taking their phones, and grabbing $389 from the cash register, Miller fled on foot.

He was later spotted by Police near a gutter, stashing the money and tossing the cell phones.

Miller is currently being held at Ocean County Jail, where he has been offered a cash bail of $100,000.

The motive behind Miller’s double robbery is still a mystery.
