A church videographer in Greenville, South Carolina, was arrested for repeatedly molesting two young girls in the audio-visual room at the church their family attended — Greenville Presbyterian Church. The victims are 4 and 6 years old.
The perpetrator, 23-year-old Gilbert Broyles, was taken into custody after the victims’ father reported to authorities that his daughters had been molested multiple times.
Often in cases like these, the accused will deny his actions, which makes Broyles’ capture so surprising. According to arrest warrants:
…Broyles admitted to church leaders that he either touched the girls underneath their clothing or got them [to] remove items of clothing and touched them in “their private areas.”
Police said they interviewed Broyles, and after he admitted his involvement with the girls, he was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
A judge has denied Broyles bail.
Greenville police tell News 13 there could be additional Greenville Presbyterian Church victims, and are asking that they come forward.
