This Is How People in the 1930s Predicted We’d Dress Today

Try to imagine what people are going to dress like in six decades from now. That’s the task fashion designers of America were faced with in 1939 when they had to predict what the fashionistas would be wearing in the year 2000.

We won’t spoil it for you, but let’s just say they kind of missed the mark – and did so hilariously.

Some of our favorite bits: Headlamps tied into women’s hairstyles to help them “find an honest man,” and a container on men’s clothing so they can store their “coins, keys and candies for cuties.”
