BREAKING NEWS: Congress Votes 219-189 to End DEA Raids on Pot Operations

Just in case you woke up this morning and weren’t aware — the U.S. House of Representatives voted to end DEA raids on medical marijuana operations in states where it is legal.

The decision was 219-189. Congress has never worked overnight on such a controversial issue. MSNBC asserts that this was done on purpose to keep things as quiet as possible.

It seems to have worked, as Fox News has reported the vote via an AP report and buried the story within its “Politics” section. One might assume the blockbuster vote would be front page-worthy. However, with the elections looming in November, the majority of Republicans in Congress are most likely sweating bullets over this bi-partisan bill.
