Country Star Serves as Inspiration for Hospice Patients

Country Music artist Lucas Hoge has been announced as a semi-finalist for Inspirational Country Music’s Video of the Year.

Hoge’s inspirational song “Sharing the Journey” was inspired by Sangre de Cristo Hospice’s (SDCH), a hospice serving Southern Colorado patients and families with illnesses.  His connection with SDCH started when his own grandfather passed away of Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS). The death of his grandfather encouraged Hoge to record a song called “How was I to Know?”, which was inspired by a woman dying of this same disease.

The music video “Sharing the Journey” depicts two different story lines, both about a hospice – including one’s journey with facing an illness, as well as the recovery after losing a loved one. It was filmed in Pueblo, CO, at the Sangre de Cristo Hospice’s Center for Grief and Loss at the Abriendo Inn.

With his efforts to take part in organizations such as SDCH, “Sharing the Journey” is making its way up the music charts and has even hit Power Source Magazine’s TOP Mainstream 75 Country songs!

Not only is this country artist hitting the music charts, but he is also a semifinalist for ICM’s Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and his song “Have I Done Something?” is a semifinalist for Inspirational Country Song of the year.  Can you say talented?
