Couple Finds Beanie Baby Worth Thousands

Throughout the ‘90s everyone had a Beanie Baby, or two, or even a whole collection! While back then it may have seemed like just a fun hobby, today it’s definitely paying off for some people.

A couple in the U.K. recently bought a royal purple Beanie Baby at a yard sale for a little over $10 U.S., then later realizing it happens to be very special.  Meet Princess, she is a Baby made to honor Princess Diana after her death in 1997. While many Beanie Babies are made in mass, Princess is one of a hundred, making her a special edition.

She was handmade in Indonesia in 2007 and is filled with special pellets. Her heart-shaped tag is printed with her name, Princess, and a poem to remember Princess Diana by.

Like an angel she came from heaven above; she shared her compassion, her pain, her love; she only stayed with us long enough to teach the world to share, to give, to reach.

If you were to search eBay for this same Beanie Baby, you would find many “Princess Diana” Beanie Babies, but many of them are fakes. Prices ranging from  $1.25-$100,000, and research would be required to make sure you’re getting the real toy.

According to the Daily Mail, the couple who bought Princess plans on using the money to help put a down payment on a home.
