WATCH: Parents Push Their Kids in Cow Poop for Good Luck

People from a village in India are seen in the video below pushing their kids in to a large pile of cow poop. The ritual is believed to protect the children from any health issues and is to also bring them good luck. This ceremony takes place a day after the big Indian celebration known as the festival of lights.

According to the Mirror, those from the village spend weeks collecting the cow dung and when the  time comes they dip their kids into the manure. As the cow is one of the most sacred and valued symbols in the Hindu religion the animals poop is considered to very pure.

The process usually continues from the early morning to evening.
