After the upset from last week’s double elimination, fans felt a sense of vindication when Bristol Palin and her pro partner Mark Ballas got their walking papers last night.
The two have managed to land in the Bottom 2 every week, yet managed to miss elimination every time. However, their first ever fight was caught on camera Week 3, in which Bristol cried that she felt Mark was resentful he got her as his partner and would have rather had one of his past dancers compete with him instead.
This stunned and angered Mark who said he has always been Bristol’s number one supporter. The two managed to get past their argument and proceed to give one of the best dances in Week 3 since the All-Star season started.
Unfortunately, the damage may already have been done, as the argument may have hurt their fan base. Of her elimination, Bristol says, “We made it to Week 4 and I’m happy with that. And I had an awesome time, and an awesome partner and these are just great people and I wish everyone the best of luck.”
Many viewers have felt Bristol (daughter of vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin from 2008) was invited back to the show not because of her great dancing skills, but because of the political controversary she manages to stir up. Her mother can be seen every week, clapping from the audience after her daughter has danced.
Fan favorites Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were saved from elimination as the other pair in the Bottom 2 this week.
Next week’s Team Freestyle will be broken up into two teams led by front runners Gilles Marini and his partner Peta Murgatroyd, and Shawn Johnson with partner Derek Hough.
Team Marini and Murgatroyd will be dancing to “Gangnam Style with Kelly Monaco and partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy; Kirstie Alley and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy; and Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke.
Team Johnson and Hough will be dancing to Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe with Sabrina Bryan and partner Louis van Amstel; Melissa Rycroft and partner Tony Dovolani; and Apolo Anton Ohno and partner Karina Smirnoff.
Be sure to tune in next Monday to see which team wins!
