‘Dear Abby’ Pauline Phillips Dies at 94

Pauline Friedman Phillips, known to millions of newspaper readers as “Dear Abby,” has died. She was 94.

According Phillips’ publicist Gene Willis of Universal Uclick, she is at rest after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and is survived by her daughter Jeanne.

Phillips retired in 2002 when she passed the Dear Abby torch to Jeanne.

TMZ quoted Jeanne, saying: “I have lost my mother, my mentor and my best friend. My mother leaves very big heels to fill with a legacy of compassion, commitment and positive social change. I will honor her memory every day by continuing this legacy.”
