WATCH: A Building Being Demolished Is Better Than Fireworks

If this is the kind of thing demolition experts get to do on a day-to-day basis, I may just quit my day job on the spot and sign up.

The above video was posted last year, but it’s been getting a lot of attention again so we thought we’d post it here once more. It depicts the controlled destruction of a building, the Wellington Hotel Annex in Albany, New York. It’s surprisingly entertaining to watch the whole thing come crashing to the ground in a huge plume of smoke — like watching big, colorful explosions in blockbuster movies — but what comes beforehand is even better.

These demolition experts clearly have an eye for spectacle, as they set up a series of smaller explosions to go off before the big one, all of them blasting off in colorful streaks of red and blue.

Watch the oddly beautiful, thrilling demolition video above. It’ll only take 60 seconds of your life.
