On October 27, 2012, the luxury nature-resort destination known as Hayman will become even more stunning, thanks to a glamorous makeover of its penthouse.
The change comes from world-acclaimed fashion designer, icon, and philanthropist, Diane von Furstenberg, who is unveiling her personally designed DVF Penthouse on Hayman. Hayman is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World and it’s located on the northernmost of the Whitsunday Islands in the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Queensland. The resort—and the island on which it’s located—are named in honor of Thomas Hayman, the sea navigator who chartered the island’s waters and has been an oasis for guests since the 1950s. (See, we like to educate every now and then. You’re welcome)
Hayman resort covers 726 acres, and though the property sports 210 accommodations, guests can enjoy the region’s unparalleled tranquility and natural beauty– especially in Hayman’s stunning new residences, all of which feature access to the turquoise waters of the Reef.
The DVF two-bedroom penthouse is described as “light and fresh, complementing its prime location in the Great Barrier Reef, and boasts a vast balcony, which offers sweeping uninterrupted views over the tropical garden landscape, Hayman Beach, and the sparkling Coral Sea waters, which lap the island.”
It will be appointed with beautifully designed furniture pieces, all upholstered in DVF signature fabrics, and include an American Oak four-poster bed. Throughout the space, contemporary furnishings will provide a mix of vibrant colors and textures in both the fabrics and rugs. The penthouse naturally features a master bathroom, and it includes a freestanding stone bathtub and neutral tones, which are said to “create a relaxing environment that integrates the natural palette of its surroundings.”
The DVF Penthouse will accommodate up to four adults and offer full Butler service, all meals, and other special inclusions.
“It was such a pleasure to work with Hayman,” said Diane von Furstenberg. “It is such a special destination and I hope my design will enhance the beauty of the island and give the people staying in the DVF Penthouse a memorable moment,” said Diane von Furstenberg.
We hope to have photos once the penthouse is unveiled. Until then, you can learn more about Hayman at www.hayman.com.au.
