We all know about the doctor’s “sick note” — that letter an official physician must write for your school or employer that verifies you have been missing school / work because you are, as you have said and as anyone can see, are sick.
Most of us understand why this policy was invented. There are far too many people who take advantage of sick days and pretend to be sick when in fact they’re just enjoying a day off. But now an unverified sick note allegedly written from a doctor to an employee’s boss is making waves on the internet. Why? Because it’s the kind of sharp, bitchy note you don’t normally expect to see coming from a doctor.
Check it out here, or read on to hear how it came about…
The letter was posted to the website Reddit by the user named eaglel66, who explains at the top of the post: “my friends work requires a doctors note if you call in sick”. Another site say the person lives in Alberta, Canada. In the note, the doctor explains that the employee is missing work because he has a cold, however the doctor goes one step further — and that’s where things get fun.
I have no test for the common cold and therefore believe him/her, however you feel his time and mine should be wasted by making him sit in the walk in clinic for hours and me spending time writing a sick note that I could be spending on people who genuinely need my attention.
Then the doctor ends the note with “Kind Regards” — you know, because he’s polite.
