It’s been a big week for Marlena Evans Black and the town of Salem. Deidre Hall, who plays Evans Black, made Days of Our Lives history this week when her landmark 4,000th episode of the NBC soap aired.
TVLine was on-hand for the behind-the-scenes celebration, snapping pictures along the way. Hall “was surrounded on set Thursday by countless castmates — including Alison Sweeney (Sami) and Eileen Davidson (Kristen) — crew members and five giant cakes to commemorate her unparallelled achievement (which aired on Aug. 21).” Check out the photos on TVLine.com.
While this is certainly a big moment, it got us thinking about a treasured Saturday Morning TV show: Electra Woman and Dyna Girl— the kid series that got Hall her start, and which the actress seldom mentions. Hall played the lead role in this female Batman and Robin-style show. They worked for a magazine, had a secret layer under their house, and rode in a super cool buggy that could fly. And, instead of exclaiming things like “Holy cliche, Batman!”, Electra Woman’s teen sidekick Dyna Girl would exclaim things like, “Electra, wow! That’s one nasty trap!” (Thus, our headline. You’re welcome.)
So with that in mind, we thought we’d continue the celebration with a clip of the opening theme. While Hall may not talk about this classic camptastic show, we have to say she looks as great today as she did then!
