A week into season 10 of her talk show Ellen, and receiving her star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame, Ellen DeGeneres will serve as an executive producer to a new NBC sitcom.
The yet-to-be-named comedy comes from Lauren Pomerantz, a writer and producer for The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Pomerantz is no stranger to writing and producing comedy, she’s also worked on Community and Saturday Night Live.
Her newest project centers on a 32-year-old single woman, proud of her independence. But, her confidence starts to wane after she purchases her first home and realizes she may be dooming herself into singleton status forever. Her friends, family, and therapist are all there to convince her she will not die alone.
Pomerantz’s show is the latest project to be backed by DeGeneres’ production company, A Very Good Production. Season 10 of her talk show just debuted to its best ratings since 2003.
