This is another one of those videos that made that rounds last year and got a little heat, but has suddenly sprung to life on Facebook as of today. And, yes, it really is as amazing — as epic — as the title implies and so we’re happy to share it here with you again.
The mother / son dance is a wonderful tradition at weddings, but this one featuring Texans Julie Ryan and her son Wesley takes things to the next level. It starts with the very beautiful “Landslide” from Stevie Nicks, then busts into some incredible dancing to songs like “Thriller,” “The Twist,” “Gangnam Style” and more.
Julie told KHOU in Houston (which we read about on Boston.com) that she came up with the idea after seeing someone else’s video mother-son wedding dance video. The two live in different Texas cities — she lives in Houston and he lives in Austin — so he choreographed the dance and the two spent 30 minutes practicing in the hotel before the event. Thirty minutes! And the results were an epic mother and son wedding dance that got broadcast on everything from local stations to CNN.
Needless to say, the guests were floored by the performance. Enjoy.
