Kateri and Jay Schwandt a couple from Rockford, Michigan welcomed their 13th baby into the world Wednesday morning.
Although Jay and Kateri both wanted a girl, as tradition they didn’t find out the sex of their baby until it was born. However they weren’t surprised to find out it was not a little girl.
The Schwandts have 13 children, all of whom are boys.
The family appeared on Good Morning America before the birth, where all 12 boys were asked if they wanted a baby brother or sister. Only three of their 12 wanted another brother, but the Schwandt family is still very excited about their latest addition.
Jay took to Facebook on Wednesday to announce to their family and friends that a another healthy baby had arrived. “It’s a BOY! Now we need to choose a name! BLESSED beyond belief!”
Having a big family isn’t odd for Kateri, she is one of 14 children, and has learned how to manage all her boys, with flow charts, chores and lots of activity.
The Schwandt’s are now known as the family with 13 boys. Their little baby, Francisco Matthew Schwandt was born Wednesday morning at a little over nine in the morning and weighs 8 pounds, 15 ounces.
No word yet on whether Kateri and Jay plan to try for anymore children in the hopes of adding a girl to the brood.
