Divorce is never easy, especially when children are involved. The negative effects of divorce on children are significant. More often than not, children suffer psychologically and emotionally when their parents decide to split up and go their separate ways.

One of the most difficult changes for kids in divorced families is adjusting to joint custody. Getting used to the idea of living in two homes is incredibly tough.

Moving from house to house means change and confusion.

How is a seven-year-old supposed to understand how the two most important people in their lives can’t seem to work things out? Usually, issues of abandonment and rejection arise if they are not given a sense of belonging in both homes.

Today, reddit user dfGobBluth posted a photo of a drawing he found in his daughter’s backpack. Based on what she drew, her father can now see the effect divorce has had on her life.

As one commenter pointed out: “Yeah, this one isn’t gonna make it to the fridge.”
