Usually, it’s the parents who are appalled by their kids’ activity on Facebook — not the other way around.
But for 18-year-old Abbie, having to hide her mother’s posts on the social media site happens on the regular. It’s not because her mom is sharing too many recipes or leaving embarrassing comments on photos, it’s because of her inappropriate, “disgusting” behavior.
According to Abbie, the way her mom Rachel acts is so horrible that she can hardly stand to be in the same room as her.
“My mom dresses like a 16-year-old. She loves to show skin,” the teen says. “She posted a picture of her on a stripper pole. My mom posted a picture of a bunch of drinks on a table and her caption was: I might not have my underwear, but I do have my martinis. It’s wrong, and it’s disgusting, and I don’t like it.”
Abbie also claims that her mom is selfish.
“She is a narcissist. My mom feeds off drama and chaos … If my mom doesn’t change, I’m going to have to cut her out of my life.”
In the video above, Dr. Phil speaks with both of them about what they can do to remedy the situation.
Damn. We’re really happy our moms just post regular soccer mom kinda stuff on their pages.
