A firefighter in Louisiana spent over two hours coaxing a group of six ducklings from a storm drain and to safety—and he used a very special trick to pull it off. All six mallard ducklings were reunited with their mother after Cody Knecht used a realistic duck call ringtone on his phone. This is apparently the second time the St. Tammany Fire Department has had to rescue baby ducks this month.
The reassuring quacking helped to calm the baby ducks and allowed the firefighters to perform a safer rescue. Who knew that a simple ringtone could play a vital role in rescuing adorable baby animals?
