In the photos featured above, some fisherman can be seen dragging in their nets to find a very unexpected creature inside.
While we’re not sure what they ended up doing with the shark, we hope they brought it back to land and at least made some fish and chips with the meat. It would be a shame if they just threw it back into the water.
Commercial fishing practices can be destructive. Methods such as bottom trawling, ghost fishing and the use of explosives or poisons contribute to the billions of tons of bycatch thrown back into the ocean wounded or dead every single year.
